Using Internet Explorer makes it a breeze. You can find your information, but it's gonna take you a while. None of the PDF files on the CD actually list a name, (like Engine - Mechanical), (Suspension), etc., in the title so you'll be opening folders / subfolders to see what's in them. Yes you can still find the information in PDF format on the CD, but you'll be playing Wack A Mole clicking on multiple folders & subfolders before you find the information you are looking for. Takes you directly to the section of the Manual you are researching / trying to find info on.
The Extra Function that Internet Explorer adds is being able to use the Index Function of the Service Manual in the web browser format.
You'll hear your CD player boot up, but then it just freezes and you are stuck in limbo if you are NOT running the FSM in the Internet Explorer browser. Like it's running a Active Command or XML Script. The CD initially opens in Adobe PDF format, but when you click to open the Service Manual, it will open a subwindow asking for your web browser to open the Service Manual. I've tried opening up my copy of the CD in Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox & Opera Browser.no such luck. The full functions of the CD will only work with MS Internet Explorer.which Microsoft has already discontinued & will no longer be supporting.(Microsoft is pushing the Edge browser) If you have a laptop or desktop that still runs Windows 7 or older, you should have MS Internet Explorer automatically loaded on your computer UNLESS you upgraded to Microsoft Edge or are using another web browser. You can still read the information off the CD, but it's not the same as if you were running it thru MS Internet Explorer. If you DON"T have Microsoft Internet Explorer you won't be able to take full advantage of the features available on the CD. It uses a MSXML format / Active Control that ONLY works thru MS Internet Explorer. Nissan has LINKED the Factory Service Manual on the CD to MS Internet Explorer.
Although Nissan tells you that the Factory Service Manual comes in Adobe PDF format, it will REQUIRE Microsoft Internet Explorer to work. Before you spend your hard earned money on purchasing the 2020 or newer Nissan Factory Service Manual, call the company up & CONFIRM that the CD will work on your laptop or desktop computer.
